Anne Frank Diary Entry

Dear Kitty,
I do not concede that the annex will ever be home to me. At first I had found it all rather exciting, but that was before I had understood the true seriousness of my family's situation. I try hard to follow the rules, Kitty, but it is all so frustrating! I try to believe that the inevitable will not happen, but my future is so unclear. Sometimes I wish it were only just you and me, facing the world together! I want to be someone, Kitty! I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all, even those that I have never met. I want to go on living, even after death!
